FLAME experience, Frauke AULBERT soprano

Guillaume BERTRAND acrobat

Frauke Aulbert is coloratura soprano with a vast vocal range of almost four octaves, specializing in contemporary music. Besides being formally trained in lyrical singing she focuses on extended techniques like overtone- and undertone-singing, multiphonics etc., to further enhance the timbral capabilities of her voice. As a vocal-sound-researcher she studies, describes and sings stiles of many different genres - like gamelan, jazz, chanson, dhrupad, beatboxing, höömii – and applies those sounds to her interpretation of contemporary vocal music. She has studied in Kiel, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Hamburg and has attended masterclasses with vocal-performers like Lauren Newton, Sainkho Namchylak, David Moss, Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Maria Husmann, Michael Vetter, Jennifer Walshe, Michiko Hirayama and the Roy-Hart-Theatre. Improvisation and (première) performances of pieces which were often specially written for her has led her to festivals all over Europe, for example the Internationale Darmstädter Ferienkursen, the Casa Giacinto Scelsi in Rome, the Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, the International Stockhausen-Summerclasses, the Hamburger Klangwerktage or the festival HAU Berlin. In 2012/13 further concerts lead her to Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Tunis,  Georgia (Tbilisi) ans São Paulo. In 2009 she was awarded the first prize by the Stockhausen Foundation for her interpretation of Stockhausen’s INDIANERLIEDER. The music theatre piece ‚Josefine singt’, in which she developed and played the lead character, was given the international Music Theatre NOW award 2012.

Guillaume Bertrand began his career as an acrobat, putting his talent as an artist in the service of charismatic artists. In 2003 he joined the company of Josef Nadj for "Il n'y a plus de firmament" which will be the first in a series of five shows. Associate artist of the Compagnie du 13ème Rue since 1998, William has a strong artistic versatility. A prolific artist concentrates its production in no less than 26 works from multiple shapes and aesthetics ranging from solo performances to large retailers. Bertrand believes that the artist who creates must pass on his knowledge as a kind of sign / mark on the future. Sharing the experience is an important goal in his artistic and educational. Thus, for more than 10 years, has put his skills as a director and his creative talents to the service of young artists. Since 2009 works in the National School of Circus Shems'y à Salé in Morocco conducting workshops for the stunts and movement, as a director or creator / inventor for apprentices.
